Hi Angle

The 31 Challenge:

‘High Angle’

She is just so super cute.

I chose this shot because of the behind-the-scenes story.

We were at the local park, which is also beside the beach and skatepark and there are beautiful trees all around.

It rained the night before this shot and as you can see there are deep spaces in this tree trunk. After a visit to see the ocean, we held hands across the ‘road’ (carpark) to the park for a play. After a while she spotted a German Sheppard she just had to have a chat with. This lead us to discovering the gorgeous trees, dirt (anything else she could get her hands on) around the park perimeter.

I love watching her discover things.

To get Dirty and messy is the most fun when you are a kid and there is only a limited time before it goes away. Climbing the trees, picking dirt, grass etc from them she discovered little pools of water that had been there because of the rain, I look over and she is scooping the water up into her mouth…

MUD EVERYWHERE, ha-ha.

We migrated from there and she fell into a puddle.

She had an absolute ball and I got some wonderful 21st material, so overall I would call our adventure a win.

This shot is just before the dirt/water eating incident, but I love the texture just as much as Eleanor did. This was her first time experiencing a tree like this and I am so grateful I could capture it. As adults we forget the magic of something so simple as a tree stump, and all the amazing things to discover and find in just our day to day. As an adult our lives become repetitive but having a child makes you look at everything completely different.

It’s so wonderful re-learning life through Eleanor’s eyes.
